Biography

Dan earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Northwest Missouri State University in 2015, where he did research on pharmaceutical and personal product contamination in fish tissue. He then worked at Catalent Pharma Solutions as an associate scientist before starting graduate school at KU and joining the Elles group in 2017 to study condensed-phase excited-state dynamics. His research focuses on the kinetic modeling of ultrafast pump-probe and pump-repump-probe data to understand photochemistry in small organic molecules and manganese coordination complexes.
